The Daily News Editorial Board
The Daily News has a famous wooden bench in its lobby. In 1995, Bill Gallo wrote an article from the point of view of the bench, during its move from The News’s former headquarters on East 42nd Street to another one on West 33rd Street. Many notable people have sat on the bench, including boxing writer Jimmy Cannon and legendary sportswriter Dick Young. Over the years, dozens of other Daily News mainstays have sat on it as well.

Editorial board
The editorial board of a newspaper is a group of experts who determine the tone and direction of the publication. The board meets regularly and makes decisions on who will write the editorials. They also have final say on syndicated and wire service columns. Not all newspapers have an editorial board. Smaller papers often rely on the judgment of a single editorial page editor.
