Grant Fourie wins in three - by Ron Jackson

Grant Fourie was in scintillating form when he returned to his best in scoring
a third round technical knockout over Amos Nhlapo in a scheduled six round
lightweight bout.

A well conditioned Fourie 61.02 kg came out slowly in the first round as he worked behind the jab against the hesitant Nhlapo 59.80 kg. However, in the second round Fourie picked up the pace before catching Nhlapo with a left hook to the jaw that put him down for a count.

Nhlapo never recovered from the knockdown and Fourie punished him through round three before putting down with another left hook. He managed to beat the count but was in no condition to continue as referee Tony Nyangiwe waved the fight off at 2 minutes 12 seconds into the round.

Fourie improved his record to 11-0-1; 6 and Nhalapo dropped his reported record to 3-9-2.
