Congratulations to Tommy Oosthuizen on his success at the Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan, New York when he defended his IBO super middleweight belt for a record fifth time. The 24-year-old southpaw was awarded a diamond ring by the IBO for his success and defending the belt for the fifth time.

Tommy boxed a smart fight from the outside and won on a lop- sided decision against the big punching Rowland Bryant from Almonte Springs, Florida

Two judges scored it 117-111 whilst the third judge had it 118-110 as Tommy showed his class to the Americans.

Promoter Lou DiBella was so impressed with Oosthuizen’s performance that he wants to feature him again in October which will mean that Tommy will be having his fourth fight in America in just over a year.

The Golden Gloves team are also on track to secure a big match-up for Oosthuizen against the top men in the super middleweight division like Carl Froch the IBF champion and WBC and WBA champion Andre Ward.

All the boxing fans out there are waiting in anticipation while the clock ticks down for the semi-final of the Nashua Super Eight with the last four men standing meeting at Emperors Palace, Kempton Park on September 22.

The exciting bills features Zack Mwekassa v Danie Vent and Flo Simba v Thabiso Mchunu in the Super Eight semi-finals and Hekkie Budler defends his IBO strawweight title against Filipino Florante Condes.

Other bouts on the bill are Mzonke Fana against Sipho Taliwe who will be defending his WBC International super featherweight title and a light heavyweight clash with former South African champion Johnny Muller against the talented and unbeaten Ryno Liebenberg.
